- When: October 2026. The red deer rut can be heard between September and October; the Guide Alpine Bormio (mountain guides) organise evening outings by reservation, usually between late September and the first half of October (in 2026 the last scheduled outing was on 10 October). Dates and places change every year: check them on guidebormio.com or bormio.eu. In the village, until the end of October 2026, the Museo Civico (Palazzo De Simoni) hosts the exhibition «La mia Wunderkammer», in memory of Roberto Togni: check dates and times on bormio.eu before going.
- Where: Bormio and the surrounding area (Cancano and Val Zebrù are mentioned in the article as examples of outings).
