Luigi Conconi and the Scapigliatura at the Reggia di Monza: the exhibition and what to do in town

From 6 November 2026 to 14 March 2027, the Orangerie of the Reggia di Monza (Viale Brianza 1) hosts Luigi Conconi e la Scapigliatura, a major monographic exhibition devoted to Luigi Conconi (1852–1917), one of the leading figures of Milan’s cultural scene between the 19th and 20th centuries and a prominent member of the Scapigliatura. It is curated by Simona Bartolena and produced by ViDi cultural in collaboration with the Consorzio Villa Reale e Parco di Monza, under the patronage of the City of Monza (official info: vidicultural.com).

What to see

The exhibition brings together more than 100 works, including paintings, drawings and prints, from public and private collections. Alongside Conconi you will find works by the three founders of the Scapigliatura, Tranquillo Cremona, Daniele Ranzoni and Giuseppe Grandi, and by other artists linked to the movement, from Vespasiano Bignami to Paolo Troubetzkoy and Gaetano Previati, with whom Conconi shared a studio.
