Weekend in Monza: the Monza21 Half Marathon at the Autodromo and what to do in town

If you arrive in Monza on the first weekend of October, the Autodromo is not just Formula 1: on Sunday 4 October 2026 the Monza21 Half Marathon returns, with competitive and non-competitive starts in the setting of the Temple of Speed (official info: turismo.monza.it / followyourpassion.it). Saturday 3 October is useful for collecting bibs and race packs at the paddock.

How to enjoy the race stress-free

Arrive the evening before, rest near the Park and reach the Autodromo from Viale di Vedano. If you are not running, it is still worth the trip: an Expo Village atmosphere, award ceremonies and a chance to discover the Parco di Monza on foot or by bike.

What to do in town (from our local guide)

• Villa Reale and Giardini Reali — history and walks a few minutes from the centre.
• Duomo and Museo del Tesoro — art and the Iron Crown.
• Parco di Monza — green spaces, wildlife and long routes (squirrels, geese and swans are not uncommon).
• Food: Victory54 (Lombard cuisine), Silvestro (contemporary), Hostaria Romana Quinto Quarto if you are after a hearty carbonara.
