Autumn on Lake Como: Orticolario in Cernobbio and the Autumn Festival at Villa Carlotta

October on Lake Como is a season of colours and gardens. Between 1 and 4 October 2026 Cernobbio hosts Orticolario; in the same period Villa Carlotta opens its Autumn Festival (Festival d'autunno, from 3 October to 8 November — villacarlotta.it). For music lovers, the Como Contemporary Festival closes on 8 October at the Basilica di Sant'Abbondio with Enrico Bronzi (free admission, polifonie.it).

A typical weekend

Day 1: Orticolario / a stroll in Cernobbio.

Day 2: by boat or by road to Tremezzina and Villa Carlotta (the exhibition Saluti da Villa Carlotta is still on).

Evening or extra day: Como centre on foot — the Duomo, the lakefront, the Como–Brunate funicular.
